The Mimosa A5x-EF is a high-performance connectorized 2×2 access point designed to simplify point-to-multipoint (PTMP) deployments while providing excellent network scalability and efficiency. With its plug-and-play installation, the A5x eliminates the complexity of manual setup, allowing for rapid subscriber additions. Its TDMA-based technology dynamically allocates upstream timeslots based on client requests, optimizing spectrum efficiency and access point utilization to maximize network performance.

Operating in the extended frequency range of 4.9–6.4 GHz (region-dependent), the A5x helps operators mitigate interference by accessing less congested spectrum. It delivers fiber-like speeds with a maximum throughput of 700 Mbps (IP), meeting the increasing demands of consumers and businesses for high-speed internet. The integrated SRS (GPS sync) technology enhances capacity at each site by enabling seamless frequency reuse, making it ideal for colocating multiple A5x devices or integrating with existing A5 and B5 sites.

The A5x supports up to 64 clients in WiFi interoperability mode and 44 clients in SRS/GPS sync mode, offering flexibility for various deployment scenarios. Utilizing 2×2 MIMO OFDM modulation up to MCS9 (256-QAM 5/6), it ensures efficient wireless performance. The device supports channel bandwidths of 20/40/80 MHz, tunable in 5 MHz increments for GPS sync and aligned with standard WiFi channels for interoperability. With a maximum output power of 27 dBm, the A5x delivers reliable long-range connectivity.

Engineered for durability, the A5x features an outdoor-rated, UV-stabilized polymer enclosure with an IP67 ingress protection rating, ensuring resilience in extreme environmental conditions. It withstands operating temperatures from -40°C to +55°C and altitudes up to 4,420 meters. The lightweight design (0.70 lbs) and single-pole strap mounting system facilitate quick and secure installation. The device connects via two RP-SMA (female) connectors and operates with a passive PoE power supply (24-56 VDC), providing a power-efficient solution with a consumption range of 9-12.9 W.

For network management and security, the A5x supports Mimosa Cloud monitoring, SNMP, Syslog, and an HTML5-based web GUI. Advanced smart spectrum management actively scans for RF interference and dynamically optimizes bandwidth usage without impacting service. Security is enhanced through WPA2 encryption, AES, RADIUS authentication, and VLAN configurations supporting per-subscriber management. Additionally, QoS features allow for three user-configurable levels, ensuring optimal performance for different traffic types.
